Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 agenda was developed   at   the    time   when  the    Country was   taking   a  position  of  High   Ambition   on Climate  Action,  embracing 2022 as  the  year  of Indonesia's G20 Presidency. The ambitious target of negative emission for the  FOLU sector shows extraordinary  but   realistic   determination,   built on  the  performance for  at  least  seven years   in alignment with  President Joko Widodo's central message to  focus  on  real  work  "under  promise, over deliver". Now, we  have  set  the  milestone forreaching FOLU Net Sink!

The legal basis  for Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 agenda is the  Presidential Regulation No.98 of  2021 on  the   Implementation  of  Carbon Pricing to Achieve the Nationally Determined Contribution Target and Control Over Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the National Development, in the Article 3 Paragraph.

Guidelines    for    operation    of    Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030 agenda are  provided in the Operational Plan document stipulated by the Environment   and    Forestry   Ministerial   Decree No.  168/2022. The  document  outlines detailed mitigation programs and  activities,  spatial approaches-based  operational plan,  persons   in charge of the activities/programs, human resource needs, facilities and infrastructure, budgeting, and national implementation timelines for 2022-2030.
